Dealing With People

I need a shower I need a shave I need a book to teach me how to behave 'Cause everybody tells me I should behave a certain way I need a compass I need a map I need to learn another way to react Because nobody ever actually acts the way they say they will Why is it so hard dealing with people? Why is it so hard talking to you? Can somebody tell me what you really want me to do for you? I want a Wrangler I want a house I want another way of figuring out if there's a way of really figuring out the inner workings of your minds I want a backyard that I can mow I want to find a way of letting you know And if there's a better way of letting you know then just please tell me and I'll try Why is it so hard dealing with people? Why is it so hard talking to you? Can somebody tell me what you really want me to do for you? Why is it so hard to make you happy? Why is it so hard working with you? And all my best friends say they have this problem too Well how 'bout you? I need to tour I need to skate I need to stop trying hard to relate Because it shouldn't be so hard to relate if you are truthful such as I And if you had a conscience If you felt shame You'd be okay with sharing some of the blame I'm sick and tired of accepting the blame when I know in my heart I'm right Why is it so hard dealing with people? Why is it so hard talking to you? Can somebody tell me what you really want me to do for you? Why is it so hard to make you happy? Why is it so hard working with you? And my best friends say they have this problem too Well how 'bout you? Mail me a postcard Write me a note Just remember all the songs that I wrote

Nobody I love would ever treat me this way, ever Ever Ever You live a life inside your mind But that's not real life You've been unkind Now dry your eyes, 'cause you're not really mine After all If anybody has a problem with this Go fuck yourself My momma taught me at a young, young age Nobody I love would ever treat me this way, ever Ever Ever I'm not surprised to find you lied And you're out screwing guys After all It's all the same The only thing that's different is your name After all If anybody has a problem with this Go fuck yourself My momma taught me at a young, young age Nobody I love would ever treat me this way, ever Ever Ever I've got my self-respect I won't let go of it I only wish that I had made a better show of it

We try to live our lives and do what's right But what's right is not always popular And what's popular ain't always right You see the best things in this life aren't free The best things in this life take sacrifice If you're going to follow your dreams So baby, take the pain Take the heartache and the shame And chalk it all up to the cost of playing the Game We both hurt but hey, we're okay I'm not gonna call We're better off now Don't you agree? Oh, what a wonderful life it would be If I don't call you, and you don't call me I'm not gonna call I'm not gonna call No In life, you gotta do what you want Say what you want to say And just be you No matter who knocks you down Just get up and try again 'Cause they're not gonna call So, why are you wasting your life Trying so hard to be liked By everyone? If they don't want what you want Don't cry It's okay You don't need them anyway Just chalk it all up to the cost of fortune and fame We both hurt but hey, we're okay I'm not gonna call We're better off now Don't you agree? Oh, what a wonderful life it would be If I don't call you, and you don't call me I'm not gonna call I'm not gonna call No You said that you would never leave And I believed you I turned my body into whiskey Just to grieve you Though it's over now, I'm out to show you how A man gets along in this world But I'm not gonna call We both hurt but hey, we're okay I'm not gonna call We're better off now Don't you agree? Oh, what a wonderful life it will be If I don't call you, and you don't call me I'm not gonna call I'm not gonna call No I'm not gonna call you And please don't call me No

Say goodbye to rock and roll It came and had its time All the songs have been written before There are no words left to rhy- Rock and roll won't die But it will kill me if I Don't leave it behind In the dawning of my life Say goodbye to all old lovers You couldn't give them what they need There is no chord progression for the heart But it responds to melody So say goodbye to rock and roll You really gave it all your best Stay in touch with those who love you And fuck all the re- Rock and roll won't die But it will kill me if I Don't leave it behind In the dawning of my life So I'll give it a try This poetry I've been waiting all these years to write Rock and roll won't die But it will kill me if I Don't leave it behind In the dawning of my life And I'm so terrified To leave you behind But I'm not too scared to try And I'm so glad that I Remembered that I Was happy once in life So say your goodbyes And dry all your eyes 'Cause I'm leaving for a while And when I come back I hope you react With a big hug and a sorry

Wait for Me 03:54
If you're waiting for me To say that I Want you to be mine Well, don't wait long Just know that I Mean everything I put into a song abut you I wanna know All that you know About anything that's real And that's real I'll show you love And justify The way you truly feel about me Wait for me It'll take time To understand your beautiful mind I'll relax You chill out And let's have us a bottle of wine Here you go, a bottle of wine You're so far Not too far From perfect but I think you're perfect for me Do you agree? Though someone wrote Those words before They resonate with me about you You're making it You make it So easy It's not hard This is what I've been Dreaming of Is this love? So honey, please Keep telling me The things you truly love about me Wait for me It'll take time To understand your beautiful mind I'll relax You chill out And let's have another bottle of wine Here you go, another bottle of wine Will you wait for me? 'Cause it takes time To comprehend my musical mind I want you He wants you to just be you To be mine Now let's finish this bottle of wine And I'll wait for you 'Cause I've got time To appreciate your extraordinary mind He's got the time I can relax You should chill out We should have another bottle of wine Yeah, let's have another bottle of wine Do we have another bottle of wine? Wait for me Pretty please

Pedestal 04:22
I had a girl a couple years ago She went away and I didn't know what I had done To make her fall out of love She left me on my knees Praying to the stars abo-ove But now she's back in my life after way too long Finally time for us to right the wrong that we'd become Over a couple of years We went to a show and talked over a couple of beers She could see the fire in my eyes When she told me my so-called friend was telling her lies about me I said... I'm gonna put you up on a pedestal You're gonna knock me down from mine You've got my heart this time Hold on tight and don't run away I know everybody's got something to say about you and me But don't believe a word I'm not quite as bad as the stories you might have heard And then she leans in to kiss me with the whiskey on her breath She says she's trying to quit but I still love it when she tastes like cigarettes Yeah, you know what I mean She's still sweet as candy when she tastes like nicotine I can see the passion in her eyes And now I know she's no believing all those lies anymore And I said... I'm gonna put you up on a pedestal You're gonna knock me down from mine You've got my heart this time, girl I'm gonna knock you off your pedestal Anytime you're out of line You've got my heart this time I'm gonna put you up on a pedestal You're gonna knock me down from mine You've got my heart this time, girl I'm gonna knock you off your pedestal Anytime you're out of line You've got my heart this time I'm gonna put you up on a pedestal I'm gonna put you up on a pedestal Up on a pedestal

Haters 04:07
You put on a costume But it's not a costume to you It's what you wear You put on a costume But it's not a costume to you It's what you wear You want 'em to watch you 'Cause if nobody's watching you Then you're not there And they say You're living a fantasy You've spent your whole damn life chasing your dreams And what do you have to show for it? But what if your fantasy is better than reality? I think you'll find some peace of mind Hey! Ho! Haters have got to go They're taking up too much of my time inside my mind Don't! Go! I'm here to let you know you're beautiful And you are gonna find your peace of mind She gives me the vapors I read in the papers that she's doing well They say I'm a player 'Cause all of the haters went and cast their spell But she knows I'm gonna treat her right I'm gonna hold her close all through the night And what's wrong with that? Not a thing And you could be just like me If you chased your dreams what could you see? I think you'd find some peace of mind Hey! Ho! Haters have got to go They're taking up too much of my time inside my mind Don't! Go! I'm here to let you know you're beautiful And you are gonna find your peace of mind Hey! And I know everybody wants a better life Hey! So why do you cut me down when I'm trying to better mine? Hey! I'm bettering mine To all of the haters who think I'm a player I bid you well Hey! Ho! Haters have got to go They're taking up too much of my time inside my mind Don't! Go! I'm here to let you know you're beautiful And you are gonna find your peace of mind Hey! Ho! Haters have got to go They're taking up too much of my time inside my mind Don't! Go! I wanna let you know you're beautiful And you are gonna find your peace of mind You put on a costume But it's not a costume to you It's what you wear

Bartender 04:11
Don't you love a dead sexy bartender? The kind that knows that this job won't last forever It's just a temporary stop Until we reach that mountaintop in the sky Please pour me another, bartender I need to think about a way that I can make life better That's not to say that life is bad And then she asks me if I've had too many to drive And she keeps me drinking all night And feeling all right She insists on feeding me when I start to sway She keeps the regulars on ice And if somebody's not nice She tells me subtly to shoo them away She'll pay every single tab for me And I don't even have to leave gratuity I'll tip her just by being me All the goofballs at the tables They're missing out, pretending to enjoy their lives I hear a man wonder if he's able To get away with cheating on his wife And I'm so mad that I could scream Because I would never dream of hurting you And she keeps me drinking all night And feeling all right She insists on feeding me when I start to sway She keeps the regulars on ice And if somebody's not nice She tells me subtly to shoo them away She'll pay every single tab for me And I don't even have to leave gratuity I'll tip her just by being me And I've been coming here for so long You're probably thinking this is so wrong You deserve the lion's share of real love And you deserve a song Don't you love a dead sexy bartender? When she keep you drinking all night And feeling all right She insists on feeding you when you start to sway She keeps the regulars on ice And if somebody's not nice She tells me subtly to shoo them away She pays every single tab for me And I don't ever have to leave gratuity So if you're wondering how I get my booze for free I tip her just by being me By being me

Collide 04:54
I took a pill Nothing is real So why am I thinking of you? Images of Lost lonely love Only fictional truths So I lie And I cry And I die here in bed We confide And collide And confess only love And the fire burns us so Our feelings become numb and low Turning paper into gold I'm waiting grip and withtake hold And I write Every night With the light from above Is it right That we fight? It's in spite of our love But when we collide We can find ourselves for the first time And when we collide We can see inside for the first time And when we collide We can find ourselves for the first time And when we collide We can see inside for the first time
